As with most things, there is a beginning

Earlier today Makita spoke to the people on her team she could find, and left notes with Bar for those she couldn't. Today is the day. It's time to go back.

While she's spoken to her team about what to expect, at least to some degree, no one's gotten a full briefing yet. She's pushed some tables out of the way to form a sort of open space in one corner of the bar, and as people begin to arrive she's starting to unpack the five military-style duffel bags at her feet, laying the contents out on the tables nearby. Grenades, mines, boxes of ammo, and a few guns are slowly spread out like a deadly little buffet.

Goldy's expression is less than satisfied.

"You don't have any secure comm-links?" she queries.

"Secure comms are handled with protokols. They're usually pretty good, but there's a slight chance that a sorceress could pick them up. And there are six of them out there. We could probably get away with it, but... if they spot us..."

Goldy lets out a resigned sigh.

"Fair enough, I suppose. Better safe than sorry."

"Yeah. We can't afford to screw this one up." Makita doesn't look happy about the no comms thing either.

"But, what about once the fighting starts?" Goldy wonders. "The enemy will be communicating once they've been compromised. If we can't update each other properly, that puts us at a distinct disadvantage."

"That's..." Makita frowns. That's a good point. "I don't have any spare comm gear..."

Goldy frowns too.

"Can we get some from Bar? Regular military headset radio technology?"

"It... probably wouldn't be a bad idea to ask." By the time Makita reaches the bar, there's a large brushed aluminum briefcase waiting for her. She smiles and runs a finger across Bar's surface. "Thanks."

She brings the case back over to the team, "Okay people, here's some comm gear. We'll keep it off until we hit the Reds so that they won't know we're coming before-hand."

"Okay. Good."

Goldy looks much happier now. She takes a headset and places it around her neck for now.

"So... what about the rest of your forces, Skeeter? Are they going to be in the vicinity? Do they have any clue about the impending attack... or what you're doing to stop it?"

She pauses, then clarifies:

"I'm thinking in terms of friendly fire issues, and the possibility of reinforcement if we get into serious trouble."

"No. I only spotted the Reds by luck, and I couldn't afford to contact anyone for the same reason I don't want to go in with active comms. And... honestly? We don't have a unit powerful enough to take them out on short notice."

"So we're on our own, just us six, and we shouldn't expect any friendly involvement whatsoever."

She nods in acceptance and doesn't seem dismayed in the slightest.

"That works for me."
