She can try, but Mel's hand is already there, catching the attack and squeezing suddenly, hard enough to hear bones crack underneath.
Launching forward, her legs pin around the witch's waits, bearing her down and pinning her to the ground.
Her scythe-bearing hand comes up, ready to arc down...
...and she stops.
