A time to remember
The air is crisp without being cold, the sun is bright without being hot, and the grass is greener than it ever was back home. But somehow... somehow this seems like the perfect place to remember papa. The perfect place to love his memory and let it go.
She looks around her. Friends. Family, in a way. She has lost much, but she has gained much.

Mel's fingers tighten slightly and relax. This is the worst thing ever in the world, and she knows it.

Past bark and leaf, through water that ran like blood and the individual sameness of cells. Until all was green and slow, cool and alive...
...that was where the images Makita sent fell, like rocks into a pond, creating sympathetic, curious ripples...

He finds Rapunzel and wordlessly takes her hand.
As much as he wishes this didn't have to be, it seems like it's the right thing to do.

Her words are quiet, and meant only for Alex's ears.
"She said that there wasn't really time for grief and saying goodbye in Bahumut."

But, she is there. Both as a soldier like Makita, a resistance fighter, and as a potential friend. Nobody should go thru something like this alone.

Thinking about what happened the last time she spoke to him makes the young woman cringe and look down: no nice memories there.
